Feb 14

Well another great week come and gone. why does the time have to go so fast when you have a cool companion?... we're really working hard in our area and getting results. i am really happy to say that this week we have a lot planned for my birthday and just fun activities too. im going to wait til next week to send you the picture and such of all the exciting adventures.

so what happened this last week? we taught, taught, and challenged people for baptism. this past week we challenged everyone on the first lesson. it really helps people get to church. at church yesterday we had 12 investigators! thats unheard of here in this area. our bishop is doing everything in his power to help us out and have a good week filled with baptisms. our ward is really excited too for this. we really didnt gain their trust with my last companion. he was too serious and bleh... now we have two goofy white guys and everyone loves us. its hard not to go to church here and not have a little kid jump on me or running at me. its way cool and i love this area. i just hope that i get more time in this area!

Yesterday was the first real random rain... it poured and poured and poured!!! was cool but after the rain it got really hot and nasty. yeah its already like that but its whatev. also yesterday we had a primary avtivity and we went with our investigating family and their kids. was so much fun for the first little bit then all the kids were getting on my nerves and i was getting a head ache. so i bascially had no energy or patience. i tried to be happy but no didnt work.... but was fun while it lasted. we had great success and a great time.

so for this week we're having 9 baptisms. one family of 5 and 4 investigators. im so excited for it. we are in the running for the top baptizing missionaries in the mission. just gotta keep finding more people to bless their lives.

how are things back home? hope everything is great. happy 30th ma and pop! was good hearing from everyone this week thanks for all the letters!!! i love you all and be safe. next week i should have some pictures from my birthday activites here so you can look forward to that!

i love you all be safe

well this last week were changes. i really was afraid of what could happen to me here. and what things i could get my self into. well at the change meeting my area popped up along with my old comps picture... his picture fadded and my new comps came up. i scored a gringo from utah. the kid has 4 months in the mission but hes the sr comp. fine by me the kid knows spanish perfectly due to living in mexico and his mom is colombian. so we have really worked hard in my area to revive things and get fetchas. or dates for people. were working on a family right now who the husband has lymphoma.

this past week we have had a great time. i feel like a new missionary! i have a new energy and ahhh just good. this week we have a good week planned and working hard. tomorrow morning were chopping wood for the cancer family and just trying to help out all that we can to ease them into the font. ha ha

also for all my friends.. feel free to send me letters i wouldnt mind getting a flood of letters from you guys.

how the weather in utah things here are really hot and getting hotter. im hoping for the rain! but that wont happen for a while. well the super bowl come and gone... im not saying i watched any of it but i was excited for the green bay win. i wore my greenbay jersey to pday sports was good. well thats another week down the drain sorry for the short letter we have things that need to get taken care of here. i love you all and pray for you!!

today we started out with going up north to do what???? to go mini golfing. i didnt know how much fun that could really be! i enjoyed it and took 2and place by one stroke... dang... but thats alright. i may return some time soon.... was a great time and i enjoyed my time with out the comp... gringos are awesome... sorry latinos... thats just what happens..

well ill be hitting the quarter mark in my mission in 4 days. thats exciting but also scary. i like being out here and time is going by really fast.

so to start this week off i had divisions with another elder from the dominican rep. was a good time and he taught me to step up and not to take crap from my comp as i do. was a really good time. the fair in sanse hit. was really fun and dangerous. there were so so so many drunks in the streets so we stayed in the house on of the nights. that night the neighbors were blasting music and fireworks were all over yet again. this city likes to party. with the fair comes a food that is really ´´good´´ its called Chojin (cho-hing) its a soup with some meat carrots and this green veg. i dont know the name of... but the day of the fair i had 3 bowls of it.... im glad to say that its a one time of year thing for me ....  the fair is slowly dying off here which is good for our progression and finding people looking for the work.

so here we have what is called noche de mandimento. its basically a FHE with the ward. well i got picked for the lesson. all i can say is that i was terrified but i planned a good lesson apparently. D&C 88 119, about establishing diffrent houses. was a good learning about that and about how well i have progressed in spanish... this week was a little rough for me. but i try to keep my head up and keep going.

well know how i talked about iguana last week. well saturday the family had them again... freak!! they killed 3 of them and cooked the eggs for us. taste the same like a chicken egg but was i hungry after seeing the process of slitting the throught of it... not really. but thats life i guess..  then they invited us to dinner on sunday... well that night i told the DL that i wanted divisions for this night. so he could enjoy the iguana. so thats what happend. so a blessing for me there ha ha..

this week not alot planned just going on with our plans. we have a baptism schedualed and such this weekend so im stoked for that. i still cant belive that im a quater done with this... crazy but i know there is still work to be done here!

i love you all and hope everything in chilly utah is going good

elder crockett...

ps its not to late to send me birthday cards! hint hint

Jan 17

this week was interesting... what did i do you ask? well last night we had iguana again.... well i prepared my mind and told my self go for it. well i ate that sucker.. was good and yes it did ¨taste like chicken¨ was fairly good.  so this week what else happened

well i went of divisions with the zone leaders. that was really a good expirence. i was with a gringo. so i could speak my feelings and vent out to him about life.. but hes a dead missionary at the begining of february. i learned alot from him with things that my comp has not taught me and stuff like that. also i went on divisions with a kind in our ward. we encounterd a person digging there well. so me being on a service high. i went to help out for 3 hours. was a lot of fun. the mom and kids go to church but the husband no. so it was a great oportunity to serve. i sure enjoyed it.

also this week we were teaching a lesson in the morning. i had a hard morning in the gym and to say the least i was dosing the whole lesson. and durring the movie that we showed i fell asleep for about a minute then felt a kick of my comp... well i learned on thing that i can no longer have hard days in the gym except for pday for the oprtunity that we have to sleep here and there.

this week we may have a baptism! so work is getting better little by little. im starting to get over my fear and talking to people. i decided i don´t care anymore and want to get better and be a tool in the lords hands. i have been doing a lot of studing this week in the liahona. man President Monson is hammering people about missionary work. glad and serving my time. ha ha. no but really i really love my mission and its going by fast. before i know it ill be home and starting life. crazy. yeah ill stay here in guate for now. things here are nice and cozy.

so this week and next week is the fair in San Sebastion. so in our area we have 2 ferris wheels and venders like none other. its cool. and every night there are fireworks. people here are crazy. but i really like this city. they are very cultrual and wear cortés. or skirts you could say. but is really cool. and i hear that this city is really the only city that wears them.

weather is getting hotter day by day but the nights are cold.... dont know the temperature. maybe ill buy a thermometor... hmmm well my birthday is coming up!! so you should flood letters and packages my way that would be a good day to come to.

well i hope everything is going great! i love all of you!

how is everyone doing over there? and hows all the cold weather? i really miss all the snow at times but its alright. hows the new year for everyone?

this week has been a little rough for me and my comp. were trying to find investigators but its hard with all the parties that go on from christmas to new years and now the big party of the city starts this week so there will be oportunities for contacting but i just hope people are looking for the word! we weiill see... also this week has been rough. one of our members who we reactivated has a tumor thats going to take his life. and has the family had a visit from the ward.... NO... im really pushing on getting home teaching done in this ward. its one thing that stook out to me when uncle gordy was president here. i know that it will help out a tone here. so we have been trying to help the family out with there problems. that has really been the story of the week. we just need to find mre people. thats all it comes down too.

this week nothing really fun planned but contacting contacting teaching slaughtiering spanish (and english apparently) and just trying to survive out here.  things are always rough at times but just trying to stay positive with all that i do. so this week will be my 2nd week with the gym.. i think im loosing some weight wich is good. im hoping to get down another 5 to 6 lbs by the end of the change in the 1st week in february before my bday. hey speaking of that you should all write me a letter or send packages? hummm good idea yeah? well times up and i need to write president marivilla. i love you all and hope your enjoying the snow and cold weather! be safe read the book of mormon and write in a journal!!
